Identifying and Reducing Burdens in Administrative Processes

This project recommends best practices, such as public engagement and data analysis, that agencies can use to identify unnecessary burdens that members of the public face when they engage with administrative programs or participate in administrative processes. It also recommends strategies agencies can use to reduce unnecessary burdens, such as streamlining processes and digitizing services.

ACUS is engaging with a wide range of interested persons as part of its study. To ensure all stakeholders have an opportunity to provide input, on February 15, 2023, ACUS published a request for information in the Federal Register welcoming views, information, and data on all aspects of a potential small claims patent court or small claims patent proceeding and its impact.

Professor Pamela Herd (Georgetown University McCourt School of Public Policy), Professor Donald Moynihan (Georgetown University McCourt School of Public Policy), and Professor Amy Widman (Rutgers Law School) are serving as the consultants for this project.
