Artificial Intelligence in Retrospective Review of Agency Rules

This project considers how artificial intelligence (AI) tools can be used to identify rules that are outdated or redundant; that contain typographical errors or inaccurate cross-references; or that might benefit from elaboration or clarification. It also considers how agencies can design and use AI tools in a way that accords with requirements of the Administrative Procedure Act and other laws and promotes transparency, public participation, and accountability.

Professor Catherine Sharkey (New York University School of Law) is serving as the consultant for this project.
