Matthew Lee Wiener is the Executive Director of the Administrative Conference of the United States.  He was previously General Counsel to U.S. Senator Arlen Specter, Counsel to the U.S. House of Representatives Judiciary Committee, a partner at Dechert LLP, and special counsel to Cuneo Gilbert & LaDuca.  He is an elected member of the American Law Institute and a fellow of the American Bar Foundation; co-chairs the Adjudication Committee of the American Bar Association’s Section of Administrative Law and Regulatory Practice and previously served as the legislative branch liaison to the Section’s Council; and serves as an elected member of the Steering Committee of the D.C. Bar’s Administrative Law and Agency Practice Section and the chair of the Section’s Standing Committee on Legislative Practice.  He has taught courses on congressional powers and the judiciary, legislation and statutory interpretation, and remedies as a lecturer and adjunct professor at the University of Pennsylvania Law School, George Mason University School of Law, and Rutgers University Law School.  He received his J.D. from Stanford Law School, where he was articles editor of the Stanford Law Review, and his A.B. from the College of William and Mary.
