Check out the GovExec article by Joseph Marks on the Committee on Administration and Management's recent approval of the draft recommendation regarding government contractor ethics. The Committee and ACUS staff have conducted extensive research with stakeholders, experts and agencies to determine what ethics standards will protect the public interest without imposing excessive compliance costs on contractors. The Committee has identified contractor employee personal conflicts of interest (PCI) and misuse of information as two areas potentially calling for greater oversight. Next steps include Council review of the draft recommendation, then full consideration of the proposed recommendation by the Assembly at the 54th Plenary Session, set for June 16-17, 2011.
