Michael J. Ravnitzky
Michael J. Ravnitzky is the Chief Counsel to the Chairman of the Postal Regulatory Commission. He is the senior advisor to the Chairman for the agency’s programs, policies and strategic planning.
Mr. Ravnitzky provides legal and technical guidance to the Chairman on decisions and other documents issued by the Commission. He established regular public meetings of the Commission which are audiocast live. He has served at the Commission since 2005.
Previously, Mr. Ravnitzky worked as an attorney, aerospace engineer, investigative journalist, private investigator, and the technical director and standards administrator at a trade association. He has written and published many technical papers and articles, and is a nationally-recognized expert in public records law.
He received a B.A. in Physics from Cornell University and holds a J.D. (with honors) from William Mitchell College of Law.
