Betty Jo Christian
Senior Fellow
Betty Jo Christian is a partner at the law firm of Steptoe & Johnson LLP. She specializes in administrative law and appellate litigation, focusing primarily on matters relating to railroads and other transportation companies. Her involvement with ACUS began as a public member in 1976 when she was a member of the former Interstate Commerce Commission. After leaving government service, she was appointed a public member in 1980 and became a Senior Fellow in 1989. She received her B.A. and L.L.B. degrees from the University of Texas, both summa cum laude. She is a Life Member of the American Law Institute and has been active in the ABA Section of Administrative Law, the Academy of Appellate Lawyers and the Association of Transportation Law Professionals.
